What is IFS therapy?
Dr. Richard Schwartz is founder of Internal Family Systems therapy. IFS Therapy is listed as a licensed therapy by the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREP) in the United States, and it is also a treatment certifies by the US Medicare insurance system to pay for medical expenses.
The therapy recognizes that everyone has a variety of emotions, thoughts or beliefs and works at the same time, and most of the time, we can not fully aware of these emotions, thoughts, or beliefs. We call they are parts. The movie "Inside Out" is a prime example of the diversity of emotions within each person.
Dr. Schwartz found that each of us has Self. It only takes time to restore the energy of our original Self, and we can achieve a state of integration and harmony. The therapy emphasizes the interaction between body, mind, and spirit, because the state of one aspect will affect the other party in a different way. For example, physical discomfort or pain could cause depress mood or create anxiety .
IFS therapy offers a unique perspective on clinical symptoms and can be used for self-healing, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. In addition, this treatment model is also suitable for all kinds of different ages.
